Sweet Flour and Second Harvest Cookie Decorating

by admin on December 24, 2009

Our customers helped raise food and contributions for Second Harvest by coming in and decorating our cookies.  Customers of all ages made a winter activity of it and helped donate to a great cause. Each person received six holiday shaped cookies and all the icing and sprinkles needed to decorate their cookies.  We collected cans of food and contributed the proceeds to Second Harvest.

Second Harvest is a great organization delivering food to organization across Toronto.  If you are interested in making a donation, you can click here

We will offer cookie decorating most times throughout the winter.  Call the store to schedule time to decorate cookies or come to one of our regular drop-ins on Thursday afternoons.

Toronto Life City of Ideas

by Sweet Flour on December 13, 2009

We were flattered and a little surprised to be ranked 10th in the list of impressive ideas in Toronto Life’s 25 World Changing Ideas from the Smartest Torontonians.  We always thought 2 minute cookies would be fun for consumers, but the reaction has been better than we expected and its fun to see how people of all ages react to getting their own warm cookie in minutes.  We just hope that a warm cookie can give you a break in the day or a moment to savour with friends.

Cookies haven’t experienced many technological leaps since the introduction of Double Stuf Oreos. Now the Sweet Flour Bake Shop, in Bloor West Village, has conquered the speed barrier.  For the full article click here
