Real Life Visits Sweet Flour

Join Real Life host Sharon Caddy and co-host Tanya Prokomenko at Sweet Flour Thursday, December 3rd at 4:30-5:30pm on CTStv (channel 9 on Rogers-Ontario).

We had a fun time sharing cookies with the crew of Real Life. Tanya had her hand baking custom cookies and Sharon made a customer favorite – a shortbread sandwich cookie with salted caramel in between. Yum!

Henry Brings Dan and Nancy to Toronto

The Saccos made the trip across the border from Minneapolis to spend the weekend in Toronto and see the store for the first time. Dan also took the time to run the Scotiabank Half Marathon with Jeff. Both were earlier product tasters and brainstormers in the founding of Sweet Flour. Dan was a big fan of our pumpkin lattes; Nancy enjoyed making a couple of her own cookies and Henry loved the sprinkles and pumpkin sugar cookies. We had a great visit and appreciated Henry’s help sweeping up the store.

Cleveland Cookie Decorator

Kim’s niece Dylan made the trip up from Cleveland to visit the store and have fun in Toronto. Dylan has always been a willing taster of new products and Kim had a great time showing her around the city and the store. She participated in our weekly decorating parties and showed off her artistic skills. She also tried her hand at mixing some cookies and made her first latte. We are pretty confident that she will be responsible for running a Cleveland Sweet Flour shop one day.

Ohio Cookie Visitors

Kim’s cousins Jeff, Laura, Max, Rachel, Sari, Shira (the Toronto Tour Guide), Jonah, Avivah came out to Bloor West to see the store for the first time. They were active cookie makers, making up a bunch of different combos — as with many visitors rainbow sprinkles, rolos and Snickers were all favourite choices; however it was the addition of pretzels which added the most buzz to their visit.

Palavi and Amol have been part of the Sweet Flour story since the earliest days of its creation; even helping in the original naming efforts. When they had the chance to visit family in Toronto they made sure to include a trek out to Bloor West to see the store in living color. The two tried an assortment of cookies and muffin tops. They were challenged to pick just two mix-ins (with over 15,000 combos, its not easy) and enjoyed chocolate chunks, nuts and of course salted caramel. Next to seeing the Steelers and Penguins win a championship, Amol felt that a fresh baked cookie out of the oven made for one of his favourite memories of the year.

Meet Michelle and Lauren

Michelle and Lauren visited us during the Bloor West Village Street festival. The girls had their faces decorated at the festival. The festival brought lots of families to the neighborhood to enjoy Bloor West. The girls came by the store to make their own cookies, mixing white chocolate with m&ms in the original Sweet Flour dough

Swansea Salsa Moms Group

The Swansea Salsa Mom’s group stopped by at the shop after a salsa dancing class with their babies. It was great to have them in with all their little babies for a mid-day cookie and coffee break

Kelly and her Dad Visit Sweet Flour

Kelly and her dad stopped into Sweet Flour as part of a cross country trip from New York City to California. They had just visited the one of a kind Niagara Falls and wanted to try their hand at making their own cookies in minutes. They also enjoyed a cup of steel cut oatmeal for the first time.

Tom warm heartedly recalls baking oatmeal cookies with his mom’s best friend and his baby sister, Amelia. He always licked the spatula when she wasn’t looking! (thats why he likes Sweet Flour’s shots of dough to taste)

Kelly remembers learning from her 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Williams, that the best way to make chocolate cookies is to mix the dough by hand… yum.
