When she’s not busy putting scarves on our Gingerbread Men or mastering our array of Sweet Flour desserts, Erika’s up to her elbows – sometimes literally — in pastry dough in her Baking and Pastry Arts program over at George Brown College. Hmm…a talented pastry chef in the Sweet Flour kitchen. Will there be pies in Sweet Flour’s future? You’ll have to ask Erika!

Farewell to Meaghan

To our customers:

If you’ve ever bought one of our decorated cookies and admired the beautiful packaging, particularly the bow, that’s Meaghan.

If you’ve ever marveled at the deliciousness of your regular, non-fat, half decaf, almond milk latte, that’s Meaghan.

If you’ve ever left our Sweet Flour bakeshop in the morning and found yourself smiling, that’s Meaghan.

Meaghan has added her brilliance to Sweet Flour for a year now, and it’s time for her to shine in other places. She has been offered a position as a Mission Coordinator with an organization called CACHA (Canada Africa Community Health Alliance), and she will be moving on to Ottawa. For anyone who has heard Meaghan’s passion when she speaks about this line of work, you know she will do great things.

So, to Meaghan:

We are grateful for all the ways that you have made Sweet Flour a better place.

Best of luck in your new and wonderful venture.

Farewell Amanda

Wanting to wish a farewell to our energetic ball of sweet smiles, Amanda.

Amanda has been with us for roughly a year and a half and she has been a strong asset to our team and a good friend. She adapted very well as a hybrid here at Sweet Flour; working both front counter and as a baker! Her strong leadership and work ethic was a great team motivator.

We are sad to see her go, but so very proud of what she has to offer the world!

All the best to you Amanda! try not to miss having flour all over your face too much ;)

Sweet Flour’s Newest Baker

We were excited to get our newest addition to the Sweet Flour team. Beckett Evan Gans clocked in at 10:59pm on December 23rd. Weighing about as much as a dozen cookies (5pds 4oz) Beckett will start with smaller responsibilities, but know he will be making cookies in no time. Like all our bakers, he arrived a little early, but ready to go. He looks forward to seeing many of you in the Shop…

I baked chocolate chip cookies for a valentines party and used food colouring to dye them red. No one ate them because the colour made them think they were carrot cookies, but in reality they were tasty and amazing!
