I work in the Food Services department at West Park Healthcare Centre as the Production Chef, so I know my goodies. We try to provide the healthiest options for our patients, but once in a while it’s nice to indulge in some decadence. This is why the hard working staff in Food Services deserve the Most Amazing Cupcakes delivered to us on Valentines Day.
And as added incentive, we have one staff member who celebrates her birthday on February 13th and another on the 14th!
My entry is for a lifelong friend,
who always is the first to lend a helping hand.
She is a partner at her accounting firm,
and boy, are they ever stern!
They all work extremely hard
At making sure the numbers match.
So let`s show these accountants how to have fun
and give them a delicious cupcake batch!
She always bakes food for her team,
But I think she deserves a break and a jelly bean.
Valentine’s Day is the best day
To show a friend you care.
Especially since she is single and ready to mingle,
And doesn`t expect to receive a post-Kris Kringle!
As a mom-preneur with a small home based business, I don’t have ” staff” . What I do have is a wonderful friend / stay at home mom that works for me on call, along with my two boys ( apprentices in training). What a wonderful surprise it would be to share cupcakes instead of another order for valentines day.
Us guys at Telus Health and Finance are always on the job. We work long hours, making sure that health records and services are up and running, 12 hour shifts at a time. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years’ Day – all the times when we should be with our loved ones, we’re stuffed in a room, eyes locked on a computer monitor, looking for changes in code. On Valentine’s Day, when we should be wining and dining our lady loves, we’re in the box – just staring at the computer, waiting for something to happen…just once, it would be so great if we could get some sweetness, some colour at work, something to break through the humdrum monotony that comes with staring at a screen. Should that come in the sweetness of Sweet Flour’s Most Amazing Cupcakes, we would be so lucky. We could languish at the fact that our significant others are not to be with us on V-Day, but we could also take consolation in a bite of a moist, delicious cupcake. Please vote for me!
Wow. We really have the finest fans in all of social media. Thanks to each of you for playing. The rest of you made choosing one of you very difficult indeed.
We couldn’t stand to leave any of you out, so Tina, Kathy and Michael: We will contact you via email to tell you how to redeem your consolation prizes in-store: 1 Free NEW Cupcake Creation and glass of milk or fresh brewed coffee.
G, for your creativity and selfless generosity, your lovely friend will be receiving a dozen of our Cupcake Creations. We will contact you via email as well.
Thanks once again – and Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
I adore Sweet Flour – every time I’m in Bloor West Village for a hair cut or to spend a lazy Sunday, I have to urge anyone I’m with for a visit. From your frozen yogurt to obscenely delicious cookie sandwiches, I’m smitten (and so is everyone that I bring happily along).
I’m hoping to share the love (ooo, pun-ish?) with my coworkers as they’re 90% male, and I’m positive would get giddy around a cupcake. They’ve been pounding the pavement with coding (I work at a tech startup – @tunezymusic / http://www.tunezy.com, a Billboard Future Sound Conference Showcase winner), starving themselves with simple salads, and are constantly staying late. A little set of cupcakes would most definitely get them grinning, and add a little energy to their day.
Sweet Flour, keep doing what you’re doing – it gets me giddy!
Here’s a little Valentine’s Haiku in thanks for being you:

Hi … I’m a social worker working at the George Hull Centre for Children & Families. We’re a hard working group of clinicians addressing multiple needs of our clients. We work long, late hours to accomodate the children and their families. We work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, learning issues, ADHD, trauma, multiple forms of abuse and multi-family issues. We struggle to maintain a balance in our work and personal lives because we all tend to give too much. A sweet treat to share with the team would be so much fun and bring some lightnes to our day.
Thanx for your consideration.
I am a grad student at the University of Toronto, in my final semester of the MA in Child Study & Education program. We are a tight knit program that helps each other our academically and other in any situation we can. When me and my colleagues are not in classes, we are volunteering in elementary classrooms, either on co-op or just for some extra non-paid experience. We will all be in sepeate locations on Thursday (Valentine’s day) but we are all together on Wednesday morning. A sweet treat would help us keep up our energy to work with all of the amazing students! Not to mention, our professors would deserve a little sweet treat as well.
I work for an organization that works tirelessly everyday to expand opportunities for women and business. We are dedicated to creating more inclusive workplaces where employees representing every dimension of diversity can thrive. We act as a catalyst through our pioneering research, our tools and services, our events, and our Awards. Together, our offerings raise awareness of how diversity benefits today’s global businesses, and provide guidance on how to enact real change.
The team here in the Toronto office is small but mighty and we work long hard hours. Something we like to do as a team, is to treat ourselves to something sweet when the day seems to drag on – cupcakes are our favorite. It would be such a wonderful surprise for the team for Valentine’s day.
Thank you for doing this!
