It’s our birthday! We’re not old yet, but we’re amazed to say we’ve already had 3 great years of serving up delicious Custom Cookies and rich organic coffee to some truly great customers — not only in our beloved West End but from across the city and even the country (is there anyone in the world who DOESN’T want to make their own cookie?) From boy bands and ET Canada, to Story Time Wednesdays, Music Night Fridays, and fun weekends with family and friends, we’ve seen a lot in our three years. To celebrate all this good stuff, we’re treating our customers to our “Spend 3, Get 1 Free” promotion. This Friday, March 23rd, our first 100 customers will get a free Classic cookie when they spend $3 before tax. Our birthday, your treat, as a way for us to say THANK YOU
to all of our loyal customers.

Even our most loyal customers can’t keep up with all of the fresh baked goods that come out of our ovens every day; so, this past week we took some of our leftover baked goods, packed them up and headed to the Churches on the Hill Food Bank up at St. Clair and Avenue Road (230 St. Clair Ave. West). The volunteer staff was great and the drop-off was easy, so for anyone looking to take that extra food off their plates, it’s a great place to go. Don’t live in that area? So our awesome Custom Cookie has made it to the big screen (actually, the small screen so far, but we’re setting our hopes high.) ET Canada, with host Rosey Edeh, and the American boy band Big Time Rush, who were in Toronto to give a concert at the ACC, stopped by the store yesterday and had a great time doing some interviews and of course, MAKING CUSTOM COOKIES. It’s not an easy job, but they hopped behind our counters and ”squished” out some pretty nice looking cookies. The good-natured guys were blown away by the cookies–we heard a lot of “Seriously, these are amazing!”–and they even took some more for the road. Kendall and Carlos went for Original, Logan with Oatmeal, and James with Peanut Butter. All good combos, but the “Kendall”, with Milk Chocolate Chunks, M&M’s, Snickers, AND a Vanilla spread, took the cake (or rather, the cookie).
ET Canada host Rosey even asked to take home one of our Sweet Flour tee’s!

At Sweet Flour, we do more than just bake awesome cookies. Check out the artistic talents of Sean McLauchlan, one of our fabulous bakers who also happens to be an OCAD graduate. He just finished a show at the Bezpala Brown Gallery and has another one coming up at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St. West) starting March 6th to the 30th. We’ll keep you posted with more details.

Valentine’s Day is all about spreading the love, but for our Sweet Flour fan Emerson and his mom Jenny, it’s all about spreading some yummy icing! They picked up one of our mini Valentine’s Day Kits and had a great afternoon of cookie fun. We made the cookies, but Emerson made the cookies beautiful! In fact, we’re keeping a spot open for him in our decorating kitchen. What do you say, Emerson? Will you “Be Ours?”
